The strategic battle for the future economic structure of the United States and the world for that matter is being played out in the media each day in a form that suggests the only more obvious sign would be a billboard that says:  "Pay attention:  this is how this turns out".  The only people that are missing the signs ahead are the ones who are looking at the old map in their lap or at their word processor. 

Here's how I see this little class  war playing out over the next few years.  Barack and the Bureaucrats are going to make sure that the bottom 1/3 of the work force has jobs, housing, and healthcare.  It's not an economic issue as much as it is a national security issue.  Whether it's Haiti, Vietnam, China, or Watts, when that section of the population does not have those fundamental components, then cities start to burn and and shooting starts.  Think Katrina driven by layoffs without BlackWater to shoot the insurgents.. 

In order to not have to pull every National Guardsman from Idaho to Atlanta back to their towns to defend them, Barack will need to get people laying bricks, stringing wire, tying rebar, and cutting two by fours.  Throw in a Pabst Blue Ribbon, some barbecue from eastern NC, and the natives will be well compensated, fed, and buzzed.  It's kind of the way you want natives to be.  The stimulus package is a jobs bill disguised as Home Improvement.  It's ok though.  We have lots of highways, bridges, sewer pipes, and  sprinkler systems that need fixed.  It's a good 10 year project and it makes the kids who were going to look at Harvard look at Bill and Norma's College of Welding and Plumbing Design instead. More consistent work and not the butt kissing that comes with striving for tenure..

We need worker bees, wisdom bees, and wealth bees going forward to make our little honeypot of a nation work. Delmar and the welders are the worker bees.  Harvard, University of Texas, and UNC will provide us with wisdom bees until someone figures out they are packaging old world ideas as new world thinking and charging people a fortune for it.  My sense is, once someone figures this out, that the institutions of higher learning are anything but, we will have lots of opportunity for redesign of the higher education system in the country.  My feeling all along is that the greatest threat to America's future are the teacher's unions and not the Taliban.

The wealth bees are the ones in trouble.  I'm a wealth bee.  I've been self employed for nearly 21 years, responsible for my own income, health insurance, company growth and value creation.  I've accumulated some assets, created some great things, and built some loyalty among my clients and friends. On occassion, I've gotten some recognition for putting more out in the community than I've taken back.  Like "My Way", I've loved, laughed and cried, and had my fill, my share of losing.  Most of the time the losing was financed at 18% through Visa, but you get my point...I've been responsible for me..good or bad.  I like it though.  I can say with pride that all of my wounds have been self inflicted.

Here's what scares me going forward under Barack's Audacity Program:  Now I'm responsible for everyone else too.  I'm responsible for Nancy Pelosi's little field mouse for 30 million.  I'm responsible for the auto industry's paralysis, bad design, and financing going forward.  I'm responsible for 35 year old bankers who have too much money, sex, and wine in their lives by making up fraudulent schemes to bilk people like me out of money using calculators and slight of hand moves that would put a pick pocket to shame..  I'm responsible for builders who built too much because bankers forgot that builders will build as long as you give them money.  It's the principle on which the crystal meth business is based.

It's not that I'm scared of what's gone wrong.  On a fire sale, last thing out of the basement day, we could liquidate the US and still start over.  The fear of people calling our debt is the same fear as a $1000 an hour escort turning you in.  Sure, it's within her right, but she's out of business forever.  China needs us to buy their tainted, counterfeit, sweatshop stuff, and that ain't going to change.  Their economy is slowing down because we all have twelve televisions and pendants with year of the ox on them in our closet.  Besides, they are highly overrated as a power.  You can't be a world power when 100 miles from your richest city, your people walk a mile down the road to doody in hole at the end of the village.  Running water, flushing toilets...prerequisites to the nuclear age.  And what's this lip synching at the Olympics thing. Five Thousand years of civiliazation and not one person who can sing a national anthem?

Here's what I want going forward:  I want Barack to give everyone a job who wants one reardless of race or national origin or skill set..  What I want however, is to be left alone and be allowed to create value and find opportunity.  I want to risk and fail and succeed and risk and fail and succeed and I don't expect anyone to bail me out or put a band aid on my knee.  I don't want a badge for showing up or prize for coming in second just so I feel good about myself.  I don't want to just beat someone I'm in competition with.  I want to make them feel like they should've never come to the game I'm playing.  I want my enemies and competitors to disappear and for them to sleep with the light on the rest of their lives for even thinking about trying to unseat me in the marketplace.

I want to do anything in the world but be slowly boiled in an employment pot of mediocrity and apathy where central planning takes over my bigger future  and people like Mary Shapiro and Chris Cox are asleep while the very thugs they are supposed to be protecting me from steal me and the rest of country blind.  I want to shoot the person that tries to take my house or my car and not be prosecuted for it and be able to buy a home or a car without having to have Jesus' FICO score.  I want to sip a glass of chardonnay while I filet the importer of tainted dog food or a pedophile who took a long late night stroll.

Most of all I want to be left alone and figure out how to contribute instead of collect.  I think if Barack got out of Washington more often, he would understand that Nancy and Harry don't have the foggiest clue of how their states should be run.  Nancy is from the New Darfur, California, and you have to love the fact that Harry is from a state that has an equal number of brothels and churches.

What neither of them know is how to run a country or how to let the people who run businesses help them out.  And we are all the worst for their collective ignorance.
